I suffer from periods of despondency
Perhaps you are experiencing mood swings and have been feeling down for a while. While everyone feels low at times, this usually passes of its own accord. In some cases though, feelings of sadness and negative thoughts linger instead. If nothing seems to cheer you up anymore and support from your loved ones is no longer enough, you may start to feel hopeless. This can be an early sign of depression.
